Welcome to Angling For Life!
Angling for Life Days 2025, US and Canada

All of us at angling for life warmly invite you to join us for 2025 our 11th year in existence! Our guide auctions begin in March and will continue until we decide to stop which will be sometime near the end of 2025. We set no specific date due to the number of generous guides who keep stepping up to generously donate a fishing trip to waiting bidders on Facebook. Donors will be able to join bidders during this time, so they can simply give during any auction they see in progress or simply donate via the links on this page anytime they choose.Feed My Starving Children hosts two Annual FMSC Gala Events, one in the Oak Brook IL in May and one in Minneapolis MN in November. Our IL event raffle and a Fishing trip in Wisconsin for $970.00 and our Minneapolis Gala brought in $1490. The total amount of meals purchased by all donations, winning bids and raffle winners totaled 52,470 meals for at risk children! We are so thankful to God for the many blessings that he has given us in 2024 and we anticipate more blessings in 2025, our 11th year. Thank you so very much to all of you who gave donations and winning bids and to those who promoted the message and mission of Angling For Life. To God be the Glory!

2024 Recap

At Angling for Life's inception in 2015 we thought it would be a one-off charity event and that would be the beginning and end of AFL. We had no idea we would make it to 10 years! Now in our 11th year we continue into the future not knowing what awaits us but we forge ahead with eager anticipation. Here are 10th Anniversary totals. We ran a total of 22 AFL Auctions, 21 in the US and 1 in Canada bringing in a total of $26,789 USD, and $36,177 CAD. The International Justice Mission received $15,270 USD, $20,614 CAD and for Feed My Starving Children $11,528 USD, $15,563 CAD. These totals reflect straight donations from our generous donors not bidding on AFL Auctions. We even were involved in AFL's Very First Raffles.

Thank you generous donors, guides and bidders!

In additon to our many bidders, it would be impossible to auction off fishing trips to anglers without the unquestionable generosity of the many guides from some 19 states and 4 Canadian Provinces who gave them. A huge shout out and thank you to all of our wonderful AFL guides! Another group deserves perhaps most honorable praise. These are our straight donors, those who simply gave without the possibility of winning anything. The amount of donors was relatively small, yet some them donated repeatedly all season long. One donor gave as many as 10 times another 5 or 6 times with several others giving more than once. There were still more who creatively helped us promote AFL and AFL auctions so that more might join the mission of Angling For Life. Thank you to all of you that gave life-saving freedom-giving gfts and efforts to make this world a better place!

About us

It was like being a kid at Christmas again. I had booked a one day trip at my favorite local fishing spot Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. But what made this trip different from others was that my guide would be celebrated angler Spence Petros. This upped the Christmas-like anticipation factor significantly. Before that trip an unconventional thought occurred to me. Could this become something more? A charity fishing event maybe? After explaining my idea to Spence he was all in. I then approached a friend and now fellow AFL team member Elaine to see if she might help and she also agreed. Our charity of preference was an easy choice. The sustained excellence of Feed My Starving Children is a rarity among charitable organizations. Its cause could scarcely be loftier, saving the lives of children on the brink of starvation all over the globe. Our idea became reality when Spence, a buddy of mine, and I held our first event on Lake Geneva. Not yet knowing if we would make this an annual event our thoughts coalesced and our vision grew. What would happen if we combined the widespread popularity of fishing with the excellence and mission of FMSC with the force-multiplying power and reach of social media? The vision was cast. A team was formed. Angling For Life was born. This year, as we approach our 5th Annual Angling For Life Days event, we look forward to many more anglers joining our team to fight hunger against the most innocent and vulnerable on our planet. Imagine what we can accomplish together.
